Evergreen shrub ranging from 1 1/2 to 6 feet tall depending on the amount of sun (the more sun the shorter the shrub.) Creeping roots spread slowly. Racemes of pale pink urn shaped flowers in spring followed by dark blue edible berries. Sun near the coast, part shade anywhere. Quite drought tolerant. Bay Area Native
