Hakonechloa macra Hakone Grass Clumps of arching leaves 1 to 2 feet tall, slowly spreading but not invasive. Loose nodding panicles late summer, fall with leaves turning a showy pinkish red before going dormant. Can handle sun along the coast, shade anywhere. Likes moist, well drained soil. Good in containers, slopes, oriental gardens. |
